For meritorious service while serving as Tactics Instructor from September 2012 to August 2014. LT Tuck was responsible for providing over 1200 dedicated hours of training and feedback to 12 SSBN and 4 SSGN crews resulting in a 100% certification of all crews during his assignment at TTF. As the lead instructor of the Tactics Office he skillfully managed the schedule of 8 Officer instructors supporting 45 training sessions a week between three team trainers and a variety of formal courses matching the right instructors to the needs of the fleet. Lt Tuck's skills, knowledge, attitude and work ethic reflected great credit upon him and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.



MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS OPERATIONS CHIEF, INSPECTOR INSTRUCTOR STAFF, DETACHMENT TWO, SUPPLY COMPANY COMBAT LOGISTICS BATTALION 453, FROM AUGUST 2010 TO JUNE 2014. DURING THIS PERIOD, GUNNERY SERGEANT THOMPSON PERFORMED HIS DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HE PLANNED AND COORDINATED TRAINING FOR 120 MARINES THROUGH FOUR FISCAL YEARS, INCLUDING 22 COMBAT AND PHYSICAL FITNESS TEST EVENTS, FOUR RIFLE AND PISTOL RANGES, GAS CHAMBERS AND OVER 120 HOURS OF ANNUAL TRAINING. IN ADDITION TO HIS PRIMARY DUTIES, GUNNERY SERGEANT THOMPSON WORKED TO COMPLETE MANY TASKS OUTSIDE OF HIS BILLET. HE SUPPORTED THE FAMILIES OF FALLEN MARINES BY PARTICIPATING IN FUNERALS AND BY SERVING AS A CASUALTY ASSISTANCE CALL OFFICER. GUNNERY SERGEANT THOMPSON EXEMPLIFIED PROFESSIONALISM DURING THESE SENSITIVE EVENTS. Junior Grade Turner demonstrated exceptional leadership, initiative and commitment in developing and implementing improvements, resulting in optimization of patient care and staff productivity. During this time frame Lieutenant Junior Grade Turner provided quality health care to XXXX pediatric and neonatal patients including over 1,000 venipunctures and IVs. Petty Officer Roman performed a critical role as Care Taker on board Avenger, Defender, Sentry and Champion in their Reduced Operational Status. He was an invaluable asset in the transfer of command from Mine Counter Measures Crew Implicit, embarked USS Pioneer (MCM 9) to USS Defender. His performance in the 2009 Unit Level Training and Readiness Assessment - Engineering allowed Defender to conduct her permanent home port shift from Naval Station Ingleside to Command Fleet Activities Sasebo during which he served as a pillar of strength in the heavy lift, un-docking, and subsequent Light Off Assessment. He demonstrated unparalleled excellence during Defender's 2011 Inspection and Survey earning an overall 98% score in auxiliaries. His performance was so coveted that he was sent to USS Avenger to serve as an Auxiliary, Main Propulsion, and Calibration adviser, resulting in her successful 2011 Inspection and Survey. Petty Officer Roman's prowess for excellence was again proven during Defender's 2012 Unit Level Readiness Assessment - Engineering where he served as the paramount Engineering Officer of the Watch, an extremely senior position for his junior rank, where he lead his watch team to an astounding six of six drill sets and eight out of eight evolution. ADDITIONALLY, WHILE FORWARD DEPLOYED, HE SUPERVISED THE DAILY OPERATIONS, PROCUREMENT AND SHIPMENT OF OVER $5 MILLION WORTH OF MEDICAL SUPPLIES TO 58 UNITS THROUGHOUT THE AREA OF OPERATIONS WHICH ALLOWED FOR UNINTERUPTED COMBAT CASUALTY CARE. PETTY OFFICER XXXX S INITIATIVE, PERSEVERANCE, AND UNSWERVING DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.



MERITORIOUS SERVICE AS THE LEADING CHIEF PETTY OFFICER, SATELLITE COMMUNICATIONS OPERATIONS AND MAINTENANCE COURSE AT FLEET TRAINING CENTER, NORFOLK, VIRGINIA FROM 12 FEBRUARY 1995 TO 13 MARCH 1999. CHIEF MCHALE DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND INITIATIVE IN THE ESTABLISHMENT OF THE AN/GSC-39 SATELLITE TERMINAL TRAINING SITES AT ATG MIDPAC, HONOLULU, AND ATG WESTPAC, YOKOSUKA. A RECOGNIZED SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT, HE MADE INVALUABLE RECOMMENDATIONS AT NUMEROUS PLANNING CONFERENCES THAT LED TO SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN THE NAVY'S SATCOM MAINTENANCE PROGRAM AND HEAVILY INFLUENCED THE U.S. AIR FORCE'S SATCOM FIELDING AND TRAINING PLAN. HIS SUPERLATIVE ACHIEVEMENTS CULMINATED A CAREER OF 20 YEARS OF LOYAL AND FAITHFUL SERVICE TO HIS COUNTRY. CONSIDERED ONE OF THE BEST CHEFS IN THE WESTERN ATLANTIC, HE DEVELOPED AND IMPLEMENTED SEVERAL SUCCESSFUL PROGRAMS WHICH HAVE IMPROVED THE QUALITY OF FOOD SERVICE FOR NUMEROUS SHIPS DEPLOYED THROUGHOUT THE ATLANTIC. AS PUBLIC AFFAIRS OFFICER, HE INSTITUTED A NEW PROGRAM DESIGNED TO INVOLVE SAILORS IN THE COMMUNITY AND MADE SUBSTANTIAL PROGRESS IN IMPROVING THE RELATIONS BETWEEN THE FLEET AND THE CIVILIAN POPULATION IN AND AROUND NORFOLK, VIRGINIA. CHIEF PETTY OFFICER O'TOOLE'S DISTINCTIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS, UNRELENTING PERSEVERANCE, AND STEADFAST DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.



Meritorious service while serving as Chief of Naval Operations, Special Purpose Systems Administrator at Defense Liaison Division, East Coast Support Detachment from January 2002 to December 2006. Petty officer Smith displayed exceptional leadership while directing all aspects of the detachment's Special Purpose computer systems in support of Naval Aviation Special Purpose Programs. His exceptional drive and dedication contributed directly to the mission success of all commands supported by the infrastructure he oversaw. As the direct link for all computer systems support for the east coast for the Chief of Naval Operations Special Purpose, his keen attention to detail and relentless perseverance contributed to the National Security of the United States. His superlative achievements highlighted a 24 year career of loyal and faithful service to his country. Petty officer Smith's distinctive accomplishments, unrelenting perseverance, and steadfast devotion to duty reflected great credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service.



Chief Petty Officer Steven Jackson distinguished himself by meritorious service while serving aboard the fleet ballistic missile submarine USS MARYLAND (SSBN-738). Chartered to coordinate and oversee work on the largest Ballistic Missile Submarine overhaul ever attempted, he managed a budget in excess of 200 million dollars and supported a fulltime workforce of over 120 contract and military personnel. A dynamic mentor, Chief Jackson recognized the importance of continuing education to the Navy mission and encouraged his subordinates and peers to explore off-duty education options. Consequently, more than fifty percent of his division are currently enrolled in some type of advanced education. A true citizen-warrior, he has devoted much time and effort to improving his neighborhood and surrounding community. He maintains qualifications as Duval County Medical Reserve Corps member, and is a nationally registered Emergency Medical CareTechnician. The distinctive accomplishments of Chief Petty Officer Jackson reflect credit upon himself, the USS Maryland, and the United States Navy.
