PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT WHILE SERVING AS CM02 WORKCENTER SUPERVISOR ONBOARD USS GETTYSBURG (CG 64) FROM SEPTEMBER 2015 TO AUGUST 2018. PETTY OFFICER JAMES B. ROTTER PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN A CONSISTENTLY SUPERIOR MANNER. AS DECK SUPERVISOR, HE OVERSAW THE SAFE OFFLOAD OF 124 MISSILES AND THE LAY UP OF TWO MK-41 VLS LAUNCHERS AND ASSOCIATED EQUIPMENT WITH NO SAFETY INCIDENTS. ADDITIONALLY, HE VOLUNTEERED FOR A SIX MONTH DEPLOYMENT ONBOARD USS LEYTE GULF (CG 55) AND ASSISTED WITH VERTICAL LAUNCH SYSTEMS, PHALANX CLOSE IN WEAPON SYSTEM (CIWS), SMALL ARMS, TORPEDO AND CREW SERVED WEAPONS MAINTENANCE WHICH RESULTED IN ONE HUNDRED PERCENT FULLY FUNCTIONAL WEAPON SYSTEMS OPERATION. PETTY OFFICER ROTTER'S PROFESSIONALISM AND DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT WHILE SERVING AS CM02 WORKCENTER SUPERVISOR AND MK-41 VLS TECHNICIAN ONBOARD USS MUSTIN (DDG 89), FROM MARCH 2018 TO JULY 2018 WHILE FORWARD DEPLOYED TO THE WESTERN PACIFIC OCEAN. AS AN MK-41 VLS TECHNICIAN, PETTY OFFICER PYNE'S TIRELESS EFFORTS AND DILIGENT RESEARCH WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE ISOLATION AND CORRECTION OF 38 FAULTS AND THREE MAJOR CASUALTIES INCLUDING TWO CATEGORY III CASREPS, SAVING THE NAVY MORE THAN FIFTY MILLION DOLLARS IN DEPOT LEVEL REPAIRS. ADDITIONALLY, HE COMPLETED 393 MAINTENANCE CHECKS ACCOUNTING FOR OVER 86 HOURS OF MAINTENANCE AND UPKEEP WHICH ENSURED THE SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF ONE SM-2 MISSILE DURING MULTISAIL 2018. PETTY OFFICER PYNE'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING PERSEVERANCE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.

DURING THIS PERIOD, GUNNER'S MATE SECOND CLASS MICHAEL COHEN PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HIS LEADERSHIP AND METICULOUS ATTENTION TO DETAIL FACILITATED THE SUCCESSFUL LAUNCH OF 13 SM-6 MISSILES AND TWO SM-2 MISSILES. IN ADDITION, HIS DETAILED SUPERVISION LED TO THE COMPLETION OF 36 MISSION CRITICAL POST FIRING CHECKS WHILE ENSURING THE SAFETY OF ALL WORK CENTER PERSONNEL. FURTHER, AS DIVISIONAL TRAINING PETTY OFFICER, HE ORGANIZED TRAINING FOR PEERS AND SENIOR PERSONNEL ON TOPICS RANGING FROM CORE NAVY FUNDAMENTALS TO ADVANCED IN RATE TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER BAKER'S TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE AND EXTENSIVE EXPERIENCE PLAYED A KEY ROLE IN THE CORRECTION OF 36 VERTICAL LAUNCHING SYSTEM (VLS) FAULTS AND SIX MAJOR VLS CASUALTIES. ADDITIONALLY, HIS EXPERTISE ON THE VERTICAL LAUNCHING SYSTEM LED TO THE FLAWLESS ONLOAD AND OFFLOAD OF 46 STANDARD MISSILES, 46 TOMAHAWK MISSILES, TWO RIM-162 EVOLVED SEASPARROW MISSILES (ESSM), AND TWO VERTICAL LAUNCH ANTISUBMARINE (VLA) MISSILES IN SUPPORT OF USS JAMES E. WILLIAMS DEPLOYMENT 2012. MOREOVER, AS CM02 WORKCENTER SUPERVISOR, HE CORRECTED OVER 200 3M DISCREPANCIES RAISING CM02'S AER FROM 57 PERCENT TO 100 PERCENT, CONTRIBUTING TO THE SHIP'S 3M CERTIFICATION WHICH, CARRYING A TOTAL WEIGHT OF 34.17 PERCENT, WAS VITAL TO THE OVERALL SCORE OF 93.96 PERCENT OBTAINED BY COMBAT SYSTEMS DEPARTMENT. PETTY OFFICER BAKER'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING PERSEVERANCE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.

PETTY OFFICER WOOTEN PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HE PERFORMED OVER 400 HOURS OF MAINTENANCE AND CORRECTED DAILY DISCREPANCIES IN MASON'S EXPLOSIVE SAFETY PROGRAM AND MK-41 MOD 7 VERTICAL LAUNCHING SYSTEM RECERTIFICATION. IN ADDITION, HE ASSISTED IN THE PRESERVATION OF TEN MAGAZINE SPACES, THIRTEEN CREW SERVE WEAPONS MOUNTS, AND 83 INDIVIDUAL SMALL ARMS WEAPONS, RESULTING IN ZERO WEAPONS DISCREPANCIES AND ENABLING HIS EMBARKED SECURITY TEAM TO PROVIDE THE HIGHEST LEVEL OF ANTITERRORISM AND FORCE PROTECTION WHILE IN PORT AND DURING DEPLOYMENT.
