MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS LEADING PETTY OFFICER, MEDICAL DEPARTMENT, NAVAL CONSOLIDATED BRIG CHARLESTON, FROM APRIL 2010 TO AUGUST 2013. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER FIRST CLASS MUNIZ CONSISTENTLY PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HE MANAGED A STAFF OF TWELVE AND MORE THAN 700,000 DOLLARS WORTH OF MEDICAL AND DENTAL EQUIPMENT AND SUPPLIES TO PROVIDE WORLD CLASS MEDICAL CARE FOR A DETAINEE POPULATION OF OVER TWO HUNDRED. HE DEVELOPED AND IMPLEMENTED APPOINTMENT TRACKING PROGRAMS FOR MEDICAL AND DENTAL APPOINTMENTS FOR OUTSIDE PROVIDERS. HIS IMPLEMENTATION OF THE DENTAL APPOINTMENT PROGRAM RESULTED IN MORE THAN 180 PRISONERS RECEIVING ANNUAL DENTAL EXAMS AND A THIRTY PERCENT INCREASE IN DENTAL READINESS FOR PRISONERS. IN ADDITION, HE COORDINATED OFF SITE MEDICAL APPOINTMENTS FOR 180 PRISONERS IN A TIMELY MANNER INCLUDING EMERGENCY MEDICAL CARE FOR SIX PRISONERS AND TWO STAFF MEMBERS. MOREOVER, HIS ATTENTION TO DETAIL CONTRIBUTED TO ZERO DISCREPANCIES DURING THE INSPECTOR GENERAL AND AMERICAN CORRECTIONAL ASSOCIATION AUDITS OF THE MEDICAL DEPARTMENT. BY HIS NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PERSEVERANCE, AND DEVOTION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER MUNIZ REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
OUTSTANDING ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS LEADING PETTY OFFICER OF THE IWO JIMA AMPHIBIOUS READY GROUP'S MEDICAL AND DENTAL DEPARTMENTS WHILE DEPLOYED FROM 12 JUNE 2014 TO 11 DECEMBER 2014. SENIOR CHIEF PETTY OFFICER MENDOZA DEMONSTRATED EXEMPLARY DEDICATION AND LEADERSHIP IN HIS DUTIES AS LEADING CHIEF PETTY OFFICER OF THE MEDICAL AND DENTAL DEPARTMENTS DURING THE IWO JIMA AMPHIBIOUS READY GROUP DEPLOYMENT. HE SUCCESSFULLY ESTABLISHED A COMPLETE AND FULLY INTEGRATED PATIENT CARE, TRAINING, AND RESOURCE UTILIZATION RELATIONSHIP WITH OVER TWENTY THREE PERSONNEL OF THE EMBARKED MARINE EXPEDITIONARY UNIT, ENSURING ADEQUATE PATIENT CARE FOR MORE THAN 1600 PERSONNEL. IN ADDITION, HE DEMONSTRATED HIS COMMITMENT TO CONTINUED EXCELLENCE AMONG ENLISTED LEADERS BY IMPLEMENTING AND MANAGING THE CPO 365 PROGRAM WHICH PROVIDED NECESSARY TRAINING IN DECKPLATE LEADERSHIP TO NINETEEN BOARD ELIGIBLE FIRST CLASS PETTY OFFICERS ATTACHED TO FIVE DIFFERENT COMMANDS. SENIOR CHIEF PETTY OFFICER MENDOZA'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING PERSEVERANCE AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
OUTSTANDING MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS LEADING PETTY OFFICER, MEDICAL DEPARTMENT, NAVY CARGO HANDLING BATTALION ONE (NCBH-1), WILLIAMSBURG, VIRGINIA, FROM JULY 2018 TO FEBRUARY 2021. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER FIRST CLASS ELIZABETH GORMAN PERFORMED HER DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. SHE OVERSAW 32 MEDICAL PROGRAMS AND MAINTAINED MEDICAL READINESS OF NCHB-1 AT A RATE OF OVER 95 PERCENT, AN OUTSTANDING ACCOMPLISHMENT AND TESTAMENT TO HER HARD WORK AND PROFESSIONALISM. IN ADDITION, SHE SERVED AS THE COMMAND'S URINALYSIS PROGRAM MANAGER AND TRAINED AND QUALIFIED SEVEN SHIPMATES AS URINALYSIS PROGRAM ASSISTANTS AND COLLECTED OVER 2000 SPECIMENS TO MEET THE NAVY'S ZERO TOLERANCE FOR DRUG USE POLICY. MOREOVER, AS THE LEAD BASIC LIFE SUPPORT CPR INSTRUCTOR, SHE TRAINED AND CERTIFIED OVER 250 SAILORS AND SOLDIERS, GREATLY ENHANCING THE CAPABILITIES OF NCBH-1 AND RAISING PROGRAM PERCENTAGES FROM 25 PERCENT TO 99 PERCENT IN LESS THAN 90 DAYS. FINALLY, HER DEVOTION TO TRAINING AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH OF OTHERS WAS INSTRUMENTAL AND INCREASED THE OVERALL TRAINING READINESS FOR NCHB-1. PETTY OFFICER GORMAN'S PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND UNSWERVING DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND WAS IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
