AS ALFA COMPANY LEADING PETTY OFFICER, SHE VOLUNTEERED AS THE COMPANY SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE (SAPR) REPRESENTATIVE, TRAINING OVER 200 PERSONNEL ON SAPR POLICIES, RESULTING IN A POSITIVE COMMAND CLIMATE AND AN INCIDENT FREE COMPANY. AS SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE VICTIM ADVOCATE, SHE LED TWO COMMAND SAPR TRAINING SESSIONS ENSURING ALL SAILORS AND THEIR FAMILIES WERE AWARE OF AND HAD ACCESS TO A WELL-COORDINATED, HIGHLY RESPONSIVE VICTIM ADVOCATE. IN ADDITION, SHE ACTIVELY MENTORED AND TRAINED 13 SAILORS WITH THE GOAL OF INCREASING THEIR PERSONAL AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT. PETTY OFFICER POZZI'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING PERSEVERANCE AND SELFLESS DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
FOR PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HER DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS COMMAND SEXUAL ASSAULT PREVENTION AND RESPONSE VICTIM ADVOCATE (SAPR VA), NAVAL HOSPITAL JACKSONVILLE, FLORIDA FROM XXXXXXXX TO XXXXXXXX. AS A NATIONALLY TRAINED AND CERTIFIED SAPR VA, HOSPITAL CORPSMAN SMITH COMPLETED 40 HOURS OF VOLUNTARY SAPR VA, 20 ADDITIONAL HOURS OF REFRESHER TRAINING, AND THREE HOURS OF ONLINE TRAINING. THIS CUMULATIVE KNOWLEDGE FACILITATED THE ASSISTANCE OF THOSE IN NEED, REPRESENTING MEMBERS OF THE COMMAND AS VA WITH 1200 HOURS OF ON-CALL DUTY. HOSPITAL CORPSMAN SMITH TOOK PART IN THE COMMAND'S SEXUAL ASSAULT AWARENESS MONTH ACTIVITIES WHERE SHE SET UP THE NBHC JACKSONVILLE SAPR DISPLAY, MANNED THE NH JACKSONVILLE SAPR TABLE, PROVIDED ASSISTANCE TO THE NH JACKSONVILLE COMMUNITY, AND PARTICIPATED IN THE INSTALLATION'S "TAKE BACK THE NIGHT" EVENT TO EMPOWER THOSE WHO WERE DIRECTLY OR INDIRECTLY AFFECTED BY SEXUAL VIOLENCE. HOSPITAL CORPSMAN SMITH ALSO TRAINED 17 NOSC PERSONNEL ON SAPR POLICIES AND ANSWERED QUESTIONS REGARDING PATIENT RIGHTS AND PRIVACY. HOSPITAL CORPSMAN PARTICIPATED IN MONTHLY VA MEETINGS TO ENSURE SHE WAS UP TO DATE ON THE LATEST CHANGES AND UPDATES TO THE SAPR PROGRAM AND ENSURED SHE PROVIDED THE LATEST INFORMATION FOR THOSE SHE REPRESENTS AS A VA. HOSPITAL CORPSMAN SMITH'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND UNSWERVING DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED GREAT CREDIT UPON HER AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
