DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER GONZALES OVERSAW AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS MAINTENANCE AND REPAIRS, PERFORMING A VARIETY OF PROACTIVE ASSESSMENTS ON AIR CONDITIONING PLANTS, REFRIGRATION SYSTEMS, AND SANITARY VENTILATION SYSTEMS, SUSTAINING ONE HUNDRED PERCENT MISSION READINESS FOR OVER 60 SHIPS. ADDITIONALLY, HE LED THE CASREP RESTORATION OF AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION SYSTEMS ONBOARD USS MOBILE BAY (CG 53) AND ONBOARD USS KIDD (DDG 100), RESTORING SYSTEMS TO FULL OPERATION WHILE PROVIDING CRITICAL HANDS ON TRAINING FOR SHIP'S FORCE IN PROPER OPERATION AND TROUBLESHOOTING PROCEDURES. MOREOVER, HE EXPEDITIOUSLY COMPLETED A TECHNICAL ASSISTANCE VISIT ONBOARD USS JOHN PAUL JONES FOR FREEZE BOX OVERHEATING, REPAIRED IT WITH EXISTING PARTS, AND RESTORED THE SYSTEM TO FULL OPERATION TO MEET THEIR DEPLOYMENT SCHEDULE. FINALLY, AS ASF, HIS EXEMPLARY PERFORMANCE AS LEAD ASF SENTRY SET THE STANDARD FOR PROPER WATCH STANDING AND MILITARY BEARING. PETTY OFFICER GONZALES' EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING PERSEVERANCE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS LEADING PETTY OFFICER FOR THE AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION SHOP, NAVAL INTERMEDIATE MAINTENANCE FACILITY, PACIFIC NORTHWEST FROM MARCH 2015 TO JUNE 2018. DISPLAYING SUPERIOR LEADERSHIP, PETTY OFFICER PFEIFER LED THE REPAIRS ON SIX EMBT BLOW VALVES, EIGHT CO-H2 BURNERS, THREE EMERGENT REPAIR HIGH PRESSURE AIR COMPRESSORS, AND SIX AUXILIARY SEAWATER VALVES, SPANNING 24 TRIDENT REFITS. IN ADDITION, PETTY OFFICER PFEIFER WAS DEPLOYED ON SHORT NOTICE TO THE USS NEVADA FOR EMERGENCY REPAIRS ON THE HIGH PRESSURE AIR COMPRESSORS (HPAC). WITHIN THREE DAYS HIS TEAM WAS ABLE TO DISASSEMBLE AND REASSEMBLE AN HPAC AND ASSIST THE CREW WITH REPAIRING ANOTHER, RESTORING THE SYSTEM AND THE NEVADA TO FULLY MISSION CAPABLE. FURTHER, AS DUTY SECTION LEADER, HE TRAINED 35 SAILORS, QUALIFYING 10 SAILORS AHEAD OF SCHEDULE AND ABOVE THEIR PAY GRADE. FINALLY, HE ASSISTED IN THE COORDINATION AND EXECUTION OF THE 2016 NAVY REGION NORTHWEST FIRST CLASS PETTY OFFICER LEADERSHIP SYMPOSIUM FOR OVER 300 SAILORS. PETTY OFFICER PFEIFER'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE
MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS THE USS WHIDBEY ISLAND SOLE AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION TECHNICIAN FROM 25 APRIL 2014 TO 29 SEPTEMBER 2016. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER WANDA TESCO PERFORMED HER DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. SHE OVERSAW THE DEPOT LEVEL OVERHAUL OF THE NUMBER TWO REFRIGERATION UNIT, REPLACING SIXTEEN PISTON RINGS, ONE PISTON ASSEMBLY, INTERNAL SUCTION AND DISCHARGE VALVES, COMPRESSOR LUBE OIL SUMP STRAINER, AND THERMAL EXPANSION VALVE, CLEARING A LONG STANDING CASREP FOR THE UNIT. IN ADDITION, SHE LED AND SUPERVISED THREE PERSONNEL IN MAJOR REPAIRS TO THE NUMBER FIVE AIR CONDITIONER, REPAIRING REFRIGERANT AND SEAWATER LEAKS, AND TAKING THE UNIT OUT OF IEM STATUS. IN ADDITION, SHE MADE NUMEROUS REPAIRS TO NUMBER ONE THROUGH FOUR AIR CONDITIONERS, ENABLING THE WHIDBEY ISLAND TO HAVE ALL SIX UNITS AVAILABLE FOR USE FOR THE FIRST TIME IN FIVE YEARS AND SAVING THE NAVY OVER 50,000 DOLLARS. PETTY OFFICER TESCO'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
