BM2 HAMILTON DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL INITIATIVE AND SUPERB ATTENTION TO DETAIL IN THE EXECUTION OF HIS COMPLEX DUTIES. HE WAS DEEPLY INVOLVED IN THE SAFE MOVEMENT OF OVER 3,800 MARINES, 120 TONS OF THE 31ST MEU EQUIPMENT, AND 200 PIECES OF ROLLING STOCK. IN ADDITION, HE LED THE COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN EFFORT WHICH RESULTED IN ONE HUNDRED PERCENT PARTICIPATION AND GARNERED BMU DET WEST PAC A PLATINUM AWARD. PETTY OFFICER HAMILTON'S EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM, UNRELENTING PERSEVERANCE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS MEDICAL DEPARTMENT REPRESENTATIVE, BEACHMASTER UNIT ONE, BPT BRAVO FROM AUGUST 2012 TO JULY 2015. PETTY OFFICER VANDENBERG CONSISTENTLY PERFORMED HIS DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER, TAKING ON THE RESPONSIBILITIES OF NOT ONLY A BPT CORPSMAN BUT ALSO AS CONVENTIONAL TEAM LPO, COMMAND ACFL, AND INSTRUCTOR. HE MANAGED THE MEDICAL READINESS OF 58 BPT MEMBERS, 23 BMU-1 RESERVISTS, AND 25 ACU-1 PERSONNEL, PERFORMING SICK CALL, RECORDS VERIFICATION, AND IMMUNIZATIONS, ENSURING BPT BRAVO WAS READY FOR THREE DEPLOYMENTS IN SUPPORT OF PACIFIC PARTHERSHIP 2012, NATIVE FURY 2013, AND WESTPAC 2014. HE WAS DIRECTLY RESPONSIBLE FOR THE QUALIFICATION OF 200 SAILORS AND MARINES IN CLS AND CPR TO INCLUDE 10 EWC OPERATORS DURING BMU-1'S RECENT EWC TEST PHASE. PETTY OFFICER VANDENBERG'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND TOTAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS SALVAGE OFFICER AND OPERATIONS LEADING PETTY OFFICER ONBOARD BEACHMASTER UNIT TWO FROM JUNE 2012 THROUGH JULY 2017. PETTY OFFICER MIXON COSISTENTLY PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. BM1 MIXON'S PROFESSIONAL KNOWLEDGE COUPLED WITH HIS EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP ABILITY WERE VITAL TO THE INTEGRATION AND TRAINING OF BOTH RESERVE AND ACTIVE DUTY COMPONENT SAILORS IN CONDUCTING BEACH AND SALVAGE OPERATIONS DURING 388 DAYS OF AT, ADT, AND IDTT. HIS POSITIVE EFFORTS LED TO HIM BEING SELECTED TO OVERSEE PARTICIPATION IN NATO EXERCISE OPERATION COLD RESPONSE WHERE OVER 100,000 POUNDS OF EQUIPMENT WAS OFF-LOADED AND ON-LOADED AND THREE INOPERATIVE AAV'S WERE RECOVERED SUCCESSFULLY. PETTY OFFICER MIXON'S ACCOMPLISHMENTS AND TOTAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIM AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.

CMCN GIBBONS WAS A VITAL TEAM ASSET SINCE JOINING BMU-1 AND WAS INSTRUMENTAL DURING THE EQUIPMENT PREPARATIONS FOR BOTH TALISMAN SABER AQUIS INSPECTIONS. CMCN GIBBONS DISASSEMBLED, CLEANED, REASSEMBLED AND COMPLETED REPAIRS ON TWO LARC'S, AN MTVR, A D7R BULLDOZER, THREE HMMWV'S, A WATER BULL, A CARGO TRAILER, A 5K TACTICAL GENERATOR AND TWO TRICON SHIPPING CONTAINERS, PASSING INSPECTION ON TIME. HIS IN-DEPTH MECHANICAL AND OPERATIONAL KNOWLEDGE OF ALL BMU EQUIPMENT AND EXCELLENT PERFORMANCE DURING ALL DEPLOYMENTS IN THE MOST CHALLENGING FDNF ENVIRONMENT RESULTED IN 100 PERCENT MISSION ACCOMPLISHMENT DIRECTLY SUPPORTING 31ST MEU, CPR-11, AND ESSEX ARG OPERATIONS. AS RAMP MARSHALL, PETTY OFFICER NELSON CONDUCTED OVER 150 LCAC LANDINGS LEADING TO THE SUCCESSFUL ONLOAD AND OFFLOAD OF 4500 PERSONNEL AND 900 VEHICLES WITH ZERO MISHAPS. CSSN NELSON WAS A VITAL TEAM MEMBER OF DET WESTPAC AND ALWAYS MAINTAINED A POSITIVE ATTITUDE AND HELPED KEEP MORALE HIGH FOR ALL. CSSN NELSON'S PROFESSIONALSIM, UNRELENTING PERSERVERANCE, AND LOYAL DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
