MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN, BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING DIVISION, WALTER REED NATIONAL MILITARY MEDICAL CENTER, BETHESDA MD FROM AUGUST 2013 TO MAY 2017. HM1 VILLANUEVA'S SOUND GUIDANCE CULMINATED IN A 95.5 PERCENT MEDICAL READINESS FOR NAVAL HOSPITAL LEMOORE AND AN 89 PERCENT OVERALL READINESS FOR 2,522 PERSONNEL. HE PROVIDED EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP FOR 37 PERSONNEL, ENABLING TWO MEDICAL HOMEPORT TEAMS TO SUCCESSFULLY PROVIDE QUALITY CARE FOR AN AVERAGE 4,200 MONTHLY ENCOUNTERS. AS TCCC/HMSB PROGRAM MANAGER, HE APPOINTED FIVE INSTRUCTORS AND FACILITATED 120 HOURS FOR 119 SAILORS CONTRIBUTING TO A SUCCESSFUL MEDIG INSPECTION AND JOINT COMMISSION SURVEY. FOR SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES AS AN AUTHORIZED NON-BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT TECHNICIAN FROM 15 SEPTEMBER 2012 TO 15 OCTOBER 2014. DURING THIS PERIOD, HN NELSON DISPLAYED EXCEPTIONAL PROFESSIONALISM AND ABILITY IN COMPLETING OVER 1,433 MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR WORK ORDERS FOR 38 DEPARTMENTS IN THE HOSPITAL VALUED AT OVER $20 MILLION. AS ASSISTANT EQUIPMENT ACCEPTANCE COORDINATOR, HE INSTALLED, CALIBRATED, AND TESTED OVER 50 MEDICAL AND DENTAL EQUIPMENT ITEMS VALUED AT MORE THAN $100,000, SAVING THE COMMAND OVER $30,000 IN INSTALLATION AND CONTRACT COSTS. HN NELSON'S EXCEPTIONAL KNOWLEDGE HELPED THE BIOMEDICAL ENGINEERING SHOP INCREASE THE COMPLETION RATE TO 99.4% SURPASSING NMLC STANDARDS OF 97%. MEDICAL DEPARTMENT LEADING PETTY OFFICER, BLUE TEAM LEADER COORDINATOR, AND LEAD BIOMED TECHNICIAN FOR EMF CAMP PENDLETON, DETACHMENT FOXTROT, FROM APRIL 2016 TO AUGUST 2017. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER MILLERTON PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HE LED A TEAM OF 35 HOSPITAL CORPSMAN IN ALL CLINICAL SERVICES PROVIDED FOR RESERVE UNITS DRILLING AT NOSC LOS ANGELES, DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTING TO THEIR OVERALL MEDICAL READINESS. HE ALSO PROVIDED 250 MAN HOURS OF BIOMEDICAL EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE SUPPORT TO U.S NAVAL MEDICAL RESEARCH UNIT 6, LIMA PERU, SAVING THE COMMAND OVER $12,000 IN EQUIPMENT MAINTENANCE AND REPAIR COSTS. BY HIS NOTEWORTHY ACCOMPLISHMENTS, PERSEVERANCE, AND DEVOTION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER MILLERTON REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.

PETTY OFFICER REYES PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER WHICH RESULTED IN HIS SELECTION AS THE 2016 NAVY MEDICINE WEST SAILOR OF THE YEAR. HE EPITOMIZED OUR NAVY'S CORE VALUES OF HONOR, COURAGE, AND COMMITMENT WHICH ENHANCED THE MORALE AND PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT OF SAILORS. HM1 JOHNSON FACILITATED THE REPAIR AND PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF 40,000 PIECES OF MEDICAL EQUIPMENT FOR WALTER REED NATIONAL MILITARY MEDICAL CENTER, OFFICE OF ATTENDING PHYSICIAN-U.S. CAPITOL, AND WHITE HOUSE MEDICAL UNIT VALUED AT 380 MILLION DOLLARS. HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN THE 97% EFFICIENCY AND 95% UTILIZATION OF THE BIOMED DEPARTMENT. AS A DECON MEMBER, HE WAS INSTRUMENTAL IN TRAINING 44 MILITARY AND CIVILIAN PERSONNEL IN THE PROPER OPERATION AND MAINTENANCE OF $300,000 WORTH OF CBRNE EQUIPMENT. AS A BASIC LIFE SUPPORT (BLS) AND ADVANCED CARDIAC LIFE SUPPORT (ACLS) CERTIFIED TECHNICIAN, HE TRAINED AND HELPED 210 HOSPITAL STAFF ATTAIN THEIR BLS AND ACLS CERTIFICATE WHICH MAKES HIM AN ASSET TO THE HOSPITAL EDUCATION AND TRAINING (HEAT) DEPARTMENT.
