HM2 NYQUIST SUPERBLY MANAGED ALL FACETS OF CLINICAL OPERATIONS AND INCREASED OVERALL MEDICAL READINESS. HIS INITIATIVE TO STREAMLINE CLINICAL PROCESSES HAS INCREASED PATIENT ENCOUNTERS BY 40 PERCENT AND CREATED MORE TRAINING TIME FOR RESERVE PERSONNEL. HIS LEADERSHIP AND MENTORSHIP RESULTED IN 4 JUNIOR SAILORS BEING AWARDED JUNIOR SAILOR OF THE QUARTER AND LEAD DET G TO WIN THE 2013 CAPTAIN'S CUP FITNESS CHALLENGE. DISPLAYING KEEN LEADERSHIP SKILLS AS FRONT DESK SUPERVISOR, PETTY OFFICER THORSHEIM LED 13 TECHNICIANS IN OVERALL CLINICAL OPERATIONS AND THE ACCURATE TRIAGING OF 500 ACUTE WALK-IN PATIENTS, AND REVIEWING 250 CONSULTS BOOKED WITH INITIAL INTERVIEW APPOINTMENTS. AN ESSENTIAL MEMBER OF THE PROCESS IMPROVEMENT TEAM, HM3 THORSHEIM REVISED THE MONTHLY DEPARTMENT SUMMARY REPORTS SUBMISSION PROCESS, IMPROVED THE DEPARTMENT'S REPORTING EFFICIENCY, AND SUSTAINED AN 85% COMPLIANCY RATE WITH JOINT COMMISSION STANDARDS. MERITORIOUS SERVICE AS GENERAL DUTY CORPSMAN, PAIN MEDICINE DEPARTMENT, NAVAL HOSPITAL PENSACOLA, FLORIDA FROM JANUARY 2015 TO FEBRUARY 2018. PETTY OFFICER LUTZ'S LEADERSHIP ADDRESSED EVERY FACET OF DAILY CLINICAL OPERATIONS LEAVING A LASTING IMPACT UPON THE COMMAND AND ITS PATIENTS. AS LEADING PETTY OFFICER, HM2 LUTZ SUPERVISED TWO SPECIALTY CLINICS, DELIVERING HIGH QUALITY HEALTHCARE IN SUPPORT OF SIX PROVIDERS, TO 2,500 PATIENTS WHILE LEADING A CREW OF FIVE SAILORS. A DECKPLATE LEADER, HE EFFECTIVELY COORDINATED THE PERIOPERATIVE CARE OF 245 INTERVENTIONAL PAIN PROCEDURES, DECREASING THE COMMAND'S NETWORK COST BY OVER $200K. AS THE SUPPLY AND EQUIPMENT PETTY OFFICER, HE CONSISTENTLY MAINTAINED 100% ACCOUNTABILITY OF $300K WORTH OF EQUIPMENT AND MANAGED AN $90K OPTAR. ADDITONALLY, HIS EFFORTS RESULTED IN A PROCESS IMPROVENT INITIAVE WHICH INCREASED THE DEPARTMENT'S REVENUE BY 40 PERCENT AND RAISED THE AVERAGE PROCEDURE COST TO $2,600. HE WAS ALSO INSTRUMENTAL IN THE RAISING OF $75K FOR THE COMBINED FEDERAL CAMPAIGN AND NAVY AND MARINE CORPS RELIEF SOCIETY.
