MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS COMMAND LEADING PETTY OFFCER FOR OPERATIONAL HEALTH SUPPORT UNIT, CAMP PENDLETON, DETACHMENT G FROM FEBRUARY 2012 TO OCTOBER 2014. HM1 BARKLEY PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HIS HARD WORK AND DEDICATION DIRECTLY CONTRIBUTED TO NOSC SAN JOSE MAINTAINING A MEDICAL READINESS RATE OF OVER 88 PERCENT AND A DENTAL READINESS RATE OF OVER 97 PERCENT. IN ADDITION, AS TRAINING PETTY OFFICER, HE OVERSAW THE TRAINING CURRICULUM, RESULTING IN 100% COMPLIANCE IN HMSB, 100% GMTS, 98% TCCC AND 100% VACCINATION TRAINING MANDATE. MOREOVER, HE INSTITUTED A NEW TRAINING CURRICULUM RESULTING IN OVER 25 GMT TOPICS BEING DELIVERED TO ALL 35 MEMBERS OF THE UNIT. FURTHER, HE WAS HAND SELECTED TO FACILITATE THE NOSC PETTY OFFICER SECOND CLASS AND FIRST CLASS LEADERSHIP COURSES, ELEVATING SHIP MORALE AND EFFICIENCY. FINALLY, HE DEDICATED OVER 40 HOURS OF EXTRA INSTRUCTION TO HELP IMPROVE THE VACCINATION PROCESS AND MEDICAL READINESS FOR OVER 500 RESERVE PERSONNEL. BY HIS EXCEPTIONAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER BARKLEY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
