CHIEF PETTY OFFICER JULIE N. TALMADGE PERFORMED HER DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. SHE LED A TEAM OF 26 SAILORS DURING THE COURSE OF MORE THAN 40 MATERIAL CONDITION INSPECTIONS IN SUPPORT OF 23 F/A-18 SQUADRONS. ADDITIONALLY, CHIEF TALMADGE PROVIDED ABATEMENT TRAINING TO 23 PROGRAM MANAGERS, REDUCING DISCREPANCIES BY 25 PERCENT IN LESS THAN SIX MONTHS. MOREOVER, SHE SCHEDULED TWO CORROSION ACTION TEAM VISITS FOR 160 CORROSION TECHNICIANS AND 23 EXECUTIVE OFFICERS, AND THREE LOW OBSERVABLE SITE VISITS, QUALIFIYING 25 TECHNICIANS AND SIX INSTRUCTORS. HER EFFORTS WERE KEY TO THE NAE CORROSION MITIGATION PLAN TO INCREASE PROJECTED AIRCRAFT SERVICE LIFE. CHIEF PETTY OFFICER TALMADGE'S MANAGERIAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE, AND UNWAVERING DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.




PROFESSIONAL ACHIEVEMENT IN THE SUPERIOR PERFORMANCE OF HIS DUTIES WHILE SERVING AS CORROSION CONTROL CRAFTSMAN ONBOARD MID-ATLANTIC REGIONAL MAINTENANCE CENTER FROM APRIL 2018 TO MARCH 2022. DEMONSTRATING UNPRECEDENTED LEADERSHIP, PETTY OFFICER KLAUS AIDED IN THE COMPLETION OF OVER TWO THOUSAND AND TWO HUNDRED MAINTENANCE PACKAGES, SUSTAINING AND IMPROVING MISSION READINESS FOR SEVENTY FIVE SHIPS. IN ADDITION, AS WORK CENTER SUPERVISOR, HE IMPLEMENTED ELEVEN FORCE REVISIONS AND MANAGED TWENTY THREE SAILORS IN THE PREVENTIVE MAINTENANCE OF FOUR MISSION ESSENTIAL WEAPONS SYSTEMS, EXTENDING THEIR LIFE CYCLE BY OVER ONE HUNDRED PERCENT AND SAVING THE NAVY OVER TEN MILLION DOLLARS. MOREOVER, PETTY OFFICER KLAUS COMPLETED HIS NAVY AFLOAT MAINTENANCE TRAINING STRATEGY (NAMTS) FOR WEIGHT TEST/RIGGER AHEAD OF SCHEDULE, HELPING TO PRESERVE OVER TWENTY MILLION DOLLARS IN NAVY ASSETS. FINALLY, HE HELPED TRAIN AND QUALIFY OVER ONE HUNDRED SAILORS IN THE NAMTS PROGRAM. AS LEAD AIRFRAMES COMMAND CORROSION CONTROL PROGRAM MANAGER, PETTY OFFICER BURROS PERFORMED HIS DUTIES IN A EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFFESSIONAL MANNER. HIS ASTUTE UNDERSTANDING OF ENVIRONMENTAL THREATS, MAINTENANCE PRACTICES, AND THOROUGH PREPARATION OF 23 CRITICAL PROGRAMS FOR AIRCRAFT MATERIAL CONDITION INSPECTIONS RESULTED IN A "SATISFACTORY" RATING AND GARNERED A BRAVO ZULU FROM THE CAPTAIN AND CONTRIBUTED TO THE HIGHLY SUCCESSFUL COMMANDER, HELICOPTER MARITIME STRIKE WING, U.S. PACIFIC FLEET DETACHMENT READINESS. SERGEANT YOUNG'S EXPERT MANAGEMENT OF THE CORROSION PREVENTION AND CONTROL PROGRAM AND EMERGENCY RECLAMATION TEAM FACILITATED THE ENDURING SUCCESS OF THIS VITAL MAINTENANCE PROGRAM. SERGEANT YOUNG'S SUPERIOR ATTENTION TO DETAIL, PROFESSIONALISM, AND PERSONAL INITIATIVE RESULTED IN A GRADE OF "ON-TRACK" WITH A "BRAVO ZULU" RECOGNITION DURING THE COMMANDER NAVAL AIR FORCES AVIATION MAINTENANCE PROGRAM INSPECTION. MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS CORROSION CONTROL AND AIR CONDITIONING AND REFRIGERATION LEADING PETTY OFFICER, REPAIR DEPARTMENT AT PUGET SOUND NAVAL SHIPYARD (PSNS) AND INTERMEDIATE MAINTENANCE FACILITY (IMF) DET EVERETT FROM SEPTEMBER 2015 TO OCTOBER 2017. DEMONSTRATING EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP AND MANAGERIAL ABILITY, PETTY OFFICER BROWN LED 13 SAILORS IN THE COORDINATION AND EXECUTION OF 202 WORK PACKAGES, CONTAINING OVER 300 JOBS, DURING THE SUCCESSFUL COMPLETION OF EIGHT AVAILABILITIES, TWO CARRIER AVAILABILITIES, AND ONE SELECTED RESTRICTED AVAILABILITY. IN ADDITION HE SPEARHEADED A JOINT MAINTENANCE PROJECT BETWEEN IMF EVERETT AND USS SHOUP (DDG 86), LEADING 18 SAILORS IN THE TRANSPORTING, SANDBLASTING, AND PAINTING OF THE SHIP'S ANCHOR CHAIN. BY HIS EXCEPTIONAL ABILITY, PERSONAL INITIATIVE AND TOTAL DEDICATION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER BROWN REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
