For meritorious service while serving as an Intensive Care Unit (ICU) Nurse at Naval Medical Readiness and Training Command San Diego from 10 November 2021 to 1 July 2025. Demonstrating exceptional expertise and dedication, LT Kundrat directly enhanced Navy Medicine's operational capabilities and readiness. As the sole critical care nurse for Casualty Receiving Treatment Ship 6 (CRTS-6), embarked aboard USS GREEN BAY, LT Kundrat played a critical role in Exercise KEEN SWORD 25. His leadership in medical training, Tactical Combat Casualty Care (TCCC), mass casualty drills, and advanced trauma life support training significantly bolstered joint medical interoperability with Japanese Self-Defense Forces, directly contributing to Indo-Pacific stability.

LT Kundrat expertly managed the care of critically ill patients, including executing a complex MEDEVAC of a Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force Marine under austere conditions. His initiatives, including the development of procedural sedation checklists and advanced ICU protocols, streamlined patient care processes, improved resource utilization, and elevated medical readiness. As the Division TCCC Instructor, he trained over 30 active duty and reserve personnel, strengthening expeditionary medical capabilities across the force.

A dynamic leader, LT Kundrat precepted 20 personnel, including corpsmen and nurse residents, advancing their critical care competencies and cultivating future Navy medical leaders. His efforts as a 1960 Specialty Representative on the Operational Readiness Council spearheaded the standardization of operational readiness protocols, ensuring comprehensive clinical preparedness for all expeditionary medical platforms. His contributions directly supported the Navy Surgeon General's Lines of Effort, ensuring quality healthcare delivery, enhanced deployability, and mission-ready medical forces.

By his exemplary professionalism, steadfast commitment, and tireless dedication, LT Kundrat reflected great credit upon himself, upheld the highest traditions of the United States Naval Service, and significantly advanced the operational readiness of Navy Medicine.
