HE WAS THE DEPARTMENT HEAD BEHIND NAVAL SPECIAL WARFARE'S MISSION SPECIFIC UNDERSEA GEAR DESIGN CONSISTING OF IMPLEMENTATION, LOGISTICS, MAINTENANCE, TRAINING, TACTICS AND TECHNIQUES FOR PROTOTYPE EQUIPMENT VALUED AT MORE THAN $1.5 MILLION. PETTY OFFICER GLIKMAN DISPLAYED SUPERB DEDICATION WHILE PARTICIPATING IN SCUBA DIVING EVOLUTIONS FOR THE 12TH ANNUAL HUMAN-POWERED INTERNATIONAL SUBMARINE RACES. AS 1 OF 9 COMMAND SCUBA DIVERS, HE SUPPORTED 202 SCUBA DIVES ENCOMPASSING 9,721 MINUTES OF MISHAP FREE BOTTOM TIME. HIS EFFORTS PROVIDED 100% SAFETY, RESCUE AND RECOVERY TO PARTICIPANTS FROM SEVEN COUNTRIES COMPETING IN 252 RACES. PETTY OFFICER GLIKMAN WAS A POSITIVE IMPACT TO NSWC CARDEROCK’S STEM INTITIATIVE AND AS A RESULT OF COMMAND INTERVENTION, SAVED THIS CORNERSTONE EVENT FROM CANCELLATION. AS WCS OF FOUR WORKCENTERS INCLUDING THE CERTIFIED STANDARD NAVY DOUBLE LOCK (SNDL) AND FLY AWAY RECOMPRESSION CHAMBER (FARCC), HE OVERSAW OVER 12,000 MAINTENANCE ACTIONS ON $3.8 MILLION IN MISSION CRITICAL DIVER LIFE SUPPORT EQUIPMENT AT THE SECOND MOST ACTIVE DIVING COMAND IN THE UNITED STATES NAVY.
