Effort was paramount in the division receiving an "above average" on their most recent Supply Management Inspection. As the Bulk Storeroom Custodian he managed over $200,000 worth of stores and maintained a 98 percent inventory validity.

For superior performance as Sales and Services division Bulk Storeroom Custodian onboard USS ESSEX (LHD 2)from June 2013 to February 2014. Seaman McCurry consistently performed his duties in an exemplary and highly professional manner. He flawlessly maintained a storeroom containing over 30 thousand dollars of Ship's store stock and received, stowed and issued over 86 thousand dollars. His efforts directly contributed to 12 thousand dollars for ESSEX Morale, Welfare and Recreation fund. A true leader amongst his peers, SHSN McCurry has led Deck Department Sailors during PT sessions resulting in zero failures for the department during Cycle 1, 2013 PFA. SHSN McCurry carries within himself exemplary military bearing and has made great contributions to the sales and services team. SHSN McCurry's initiative, perseverance and loyal devotion to duty reflected credit upon himself and were in keeping with the highest traditions of the United States Naval Services.
