AS HELICOPTER CONTROL OFFICER, he conducted 477 Deck Landing Qualifications (DLQs), 53 Fast Rope events, and qualified two HCOs during underway training events with U.S. Special Operations. He oversaw the training of three CNO High Risk Courses as well as the Helicopter Control Officer and Landing Signalman Enlisted Course.

AS Helicopter Control Officer, he launched and recovered all aircraft operating under Visual Flight Rules (VFR) in the ship's control zone. Acted as the control zone clearing authority and coordinated all aircraft operations within the control zone. Executed over 2,000 DLQs across all branches of service without incident.
