ASTAC Evals
As Lead ASTAC Mentor, OSC Morgan was instrumental in teaching Fleet ASTACS and controlling SH-60R helicopters.
Served as Level 3 ASTAC on USS LAKE ERIE and oversaw 400 hours of incident-free flights conducting surface surveillance. Also coordinated control of two MH-60R SEAHAWK Helicopters, the world's most advanced maritime helicopter and a Lockheed P-3 Orion anti-submarine and maritime surveillance aircraft. Also supervised multiple joint AMOSW events controlling USAF B-52 bombers for surface engagement as well as two Marine FA-18s for JADEX.
Led and managed 43 Sailors across his division to include four ASTACs, maintaining Combat Information Center readiness. His efforts contributed to command wide certifications in naval surface fire support, anti-submarine warfare, anti-surface warfare, anti-air warfare and strike warfare through three full training cycles and three deployments. He facilitated 19 advancements, 16 ESWS qualifications, nine EAWS qualifications, three qualified ASTACs, and two qualified AICs, keeping the ship mission ready.
Completed one anti-submarine assessment with zero discrepancies. Also aided the Hopper's CIC Team with one successful DLQ, two ELVAs, and a total of 80 hours of watchstanding as ASUWC and Watch sup while simultaneously qualifying as level 1A ASTAC. While onboard USS Essex, assisted in the completion of 47 Unit Levels including 11 allied ships resulting in the successful completion of RIMPAC 22. Drafted and executed 40 tactical maneuvering signals, oversaw 20 UNREPs, maintaining the freedom and safety of navigation of allied countries' ships participating in RIMPAC 22.
