Dedicated Avionics Technician completed 283 MAFS that contributed to help UP 3 aircrafts that completed 1,276.5 mishap free flight hours that completed 30 NALO missions and accumulated 2,196.4 man hours. Assisted in 10 aircraft moves, 5 daily inspections, and 10 aircraft fueling evolutions.
As Leading Petty Officer of the AIRSpeed core team, Petty Officer Cynthia S. Klein supervised 78 Sailors, Marines, and civilians during 11 Rapid Improvement Events and two Black Belt DMAIC Projects, which produced a combined financial savings and cost avoidance of over $550,456. As the Fleet Readiness Center New Orleans lead CPI instructor, she coached, trained and qualified one Black Belt, four Green Belts, 109 Yellow Belts, and two Green Belt instructors. Her unparalleled expertise and intense dedication to continuous process improvement cannot be understated and was directly responsible for Fleet Readiness Center New Orleans being selected as the Mid-Atlantic AIRSpeed site of the year.
Selected to fill VX-9's critical billet of Communications Security custodian accounting for monthly crypto keys and ensuring positive control of over 86 items of classified materials. Led 23 Sailors in the expert repair of over 1200 discrepancies, requiring 7000 manhours.
MAINTENANCE MANAGER. As COMNAVAIRLANT lead representative, he coordinated with NAVAIR, Contractor and Fleet Support Team (FST) personnel to implement a technical directive that upgraded the Coolant Pump Test Module (CPTM) on eight Carrier and 4 shore site activities. His actions directly increased operational readiness and the war fighting capability of the fleet.
-TECHNICAL LEAD. Led a comprehensive television and network assessment and installation review that resulted in a 30 percent increase in the number of access points established by earlier NAVFAC estimations. His efforts produced a marked increase in Video Teleconferencing and network capability throughout the command.
-TEAM BUILDER. He led a 7-man team that completely renovated and revitalized six courtyards and eight surrounding public access areas, restoring all to pristine condition. He also directed the movement of more than 1,000 pieces of command material and furniture and sundry items during the command relocation, saving more than $20,000 in contractor costs.
Workcenter 220 Leading Petty Officer and full systems Quality Assurance Representative (QAR) and in-flight technician. Led 13 electricians and 48 CDIs, CDQARs, and QARs. Made indispensable contributions to the completion of 1,820 sorties and over 5,000 flight hours.
