PETTY OFFICER WILLIAM WALLACE DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL LEADERSHIP, MENTORING OVER ONE HUNDRED AND SIXTY MSRON-7 SAILORS. DURING THIS PERIOD, PETTY OFFICER FIRST CLASS MCCORMACK PERFORMED HIS DEMANDING DUTIES IN AN EXEMPARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. AS DEBARK CONTROL OFFICER, BM1 MCCORMACK LED 75 SAILORS THROUGH 256 COMPLEX EVOLUTIONS WHICH INCLUDED 178 LCAC LAUNCH AND RECOVERIES, EIGHT LCU, 13 AAV, 23 COMBAT RUBBER RAIDING CRAFT, AND FOUR LARC V OPERATIONS, WITH ZERO MISHAPS. ADDITIONALLY, AS FUELING AT SEA 1A RIG CAPTAIN, HE SUPPLIED OVER 600,000 GALLONS OF FUEL TO THREE WARSHIPS WHICH SUSTAINED 7TH FLEET OPERATIONS. MOREOVER, AS DEPARTMENT 3M ASSISTANT, HE OVERSAW TWO WORK CENTERS AND THE ACCOMPLISHMENT OF OVER 4,000 PMS CHECKS, GREATLY CONTRIBUTING TO THE MISSION READINESS OF DECK DEPARTMENT AND THE SHIP AS A WHOLE. PETTY OFFICER MCCORMACK'S DETERMINATION, WISE JUDGMENT, AND DEDICATION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS DECK DEPARTMENT LEADING PETTY OFFICER ONBOARD USS SAN ANTONIO FROM OCTOBER 2011 TO NOVEMBER 2015. PETTY OFFICER MARCEAU PERFORMED A VARIETY OF IMPORTANT DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. ON ARRIVAL AT THIS COMMAND, HE IMMEDIATELY DEMONSTRATED AN UNCOMMON LEVEL OF DEDICATION WHICH RESULTED IN HIM BECOMING A SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT ON ALL LPD-17 CLASS CRANE SYSTEMS AND DECK EQUIPMENT. HIS TECHNICAL EXPERTISE HELPED USS SAN ANTONIO ACHIEVE TWO BATTLE E'S, TWO MERITORIOUS UNIT COMMENDATIONS, ONE JOINT MERITORIOUS UNIT COMMENDATION, AND TWO HUMANITARIAN SERVICE MEDALS. HIS CLEAR-CUT LEADERSHIP GAVE USS SAN ANTONIO THE TOOLS TO COMPLETE HER FIRST SUCCESSFUL INSURV, DEPLOYMENT, AND BALTIC OPERATION, AND PROVIDED FUTURE LPO'S WITH A SOUND FOUNDATION ON WHICH TO EXPAND ON HIS ACCOMPLISHMENTS. BY HIS REMARKABLE PERSEVERANCE AND DEVOTION TO DUTY, PETTY OFFICER MARCEAU REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND UPHELD THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
MERITORIOUS SERVICE WHILE SERVING AS DECK DEPARTMENT WORK CENTER SUPERVISOR FOR USS NEW YORK (LPD-21) FROM 12 JULY 2010 TO 13 NOVEMBER 2013. CHIEF PETTY OFFICER GIBSON ARRANGED THE COMPREHENSIVE TRAINING OF OVER 35 JUNIOR SAILORS ON ALL FACETS OF DECK SEAMANSHIP, 3M MAINTENANCE, AND DECK EVOLUTIONS. SHE FLAWLESSLY COORDINATED THE TRAINING AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRMENTS, ENSURING DECK DEPARTMENT WAS READY FOR LOA, CREW CERT I/II/III, INSURV, AND THE SHIP'S MAIDEN DEPLOYMENT. ADDITIONALLY, SHE SPENT COUNTLESS DAYS IN SUPPORT OF NEW YORK ONLOAD WHICH INCLUDED THOUSANDS OF POUNDS OF EQUIPMENT AND OUTFITTING DECK DEPARTMENT WHICH ENABLED NEW YORK TO MEET ITS SAIL AWAY DAY. CHIEF PETTY OFFICER GIBSON'S DISTINCTIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS, UNRELENTING PERSEVERANCE AND STEADFAST DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HERSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
