Fire Controlman Aegis (FCA) Evals
Petty Officer Decker's technical and tactical knowledge of warfighting tactics were critical in the successful completion of 264 hours of classroom and shipboard instruction supporting two SPY Self-Assessment and Groom Trainings (SAGTs), two Radar System Controller (RSC) Enhanced classes and one AEGIS Advanced Electronic Cooling Water/Dry Air Self Assessment and Groom Training (ECWS SAGT). As Master Training Specialist, he conducted 17 hour of MTS training, qualifying five instructors in nine topics ensuring SCSTC Det SE's ability to effectively train the waterfront.
As a Leader and Repair Parts Petty Officer, contributed greatly to the restoration of 400HZ Converters and MK 99 Fire Control System during CHOSIN Ship's Life Extension Project and Extended Docking Selected Restricted Availability. Management ensured successful Light Off of 1STCA and 1STCB, and MK99 FCS. While TAD to ER09, corrected discrepancies resulting in improvement from 23% to 68% for Damage Control Material Assessment. Supervised training for 303 sailors, resulting in CHOSIN completing ATG ATFP inspection. Managed 137 work items vital to AEGIS Light Off.
While TAD to SWRMC Combat System Department, he was instrumental in over 310 hours of troubleshooting on SPY-1 radar systems for six ships during TSRAs saving the Navy 1.2 million and increasing C3F operational readiness. As Command Fitness leader he prepared 12 at risk sailors for 6 PFAs leading to total of a 99 percent passing rate. As an MWR member he led countless events and also fundraised a total of $30,000, increasing crew morale and esprit de corps.
While serving at Center for Surface Combat Systems Detachment Yokosuka, provided instruction for 11 FDNF ships, with 730 hours of instruction delivered. As course supervisor of the IAMD AWT Phase II and III courses, FCA1 was in charge of verifying the completion of those ships' basic phases, ensuring that 7th fleet ships were able to meet their rigorous missions in a timely manner.
As workcenter supervisor for CF01, providing 2,900 hours of troubleshooting and 1345 hours of corrective maintenance to clear 13 CASREPS ensuring ROOSEVELT was able to successfully stay on Mission. His exceptional technical skills led to seventeen consecutive months on SPY Honor Roll, the longest streak in the Navy.
As FCS/400Hz technician, she conducted 1337 hours of maintenance resulting in the correction of five CASREPS ensuring CF's 100% misson readiness onboard USS ROOSEVELT during FDNF patrols 3 and 4. As CF TPO, she enforced a new training curriculum resulting in 356 hours of training conducted across 57 topics and 179 qualifications completed. A member of ROOSEVELT's CSTT, participated in 32 scenarios and 267 hours of training resulting in the qualification of ROOSEVELT's Blue and Gold Watch standing teams!
