MERITORIOUS SERVICE AS THE SCI NETWORKS ADMINISTRATOR, USS LASSEN, YOKOSUKA, JAPAN FROM 13 AUGUST 2007 TO 12 SEPTEMBER 2011. PETTY OFFICER WOODHORN PERFORMED HIS DUTIES IN AN EXEMPLARY AND HIGHLY PROFESSIONAL MANNER. HE DEMONSTRATED EXCEPTIONAL KNOWLEDGE AND INITIATIVE IN THE RESTORATION OF THE AN/GSC-39 SATELLITE TERMINAL TRAINING SITES AT ATG MIDPAC, HONOLULU AND ATG WESTPAC, YOKOSUKA. A RECOGNIZED SUBJECT MATTER EXPERT, HE MADE A NUMBER OF RELEVANT AND INVALUABLE RECOMMENDATIONS AT NUMEROUS JOINT PLANNING CONFERENCES THAT LED TO SIGNIFICANT IMPROVEMENT IN THE NAVY'S SATCOM MAINTENANCE AND OPERATIONS PROGRAM AND HEAVILY INFLUENCED THE U.S. AIR FORCE'S SATCOM FIELDING AND TRAINING PLAN. PETTY OFFICER WOODHORN'S DISTINCTIVE ACCOMPLISHMENTS, UNRELENTING EFFORTS, AND STEADFAST DEVOTION TO DUTY REFLECTED CREDIT UPON HIMSELF AND WERE IN KEEPING WITH THE HIGHEST TRADITIONS OF THE UNITED STATES NAVAL SERVICE.
