Information Systems Technician (IT) Evals


IT2 Murakami orchestrated 24 Sailors in the daily operations of all Network, Communications and Naval Message handling in implementing 53 robust communications plans that successfully showcased STERETT's communications suite. In addition, he led the team to resolve 1573 trouble tickets over CANES Network ensuring excellent customer services. Trained and developed 24 Sailors through 581 training hours which resulted in 5 Communication Watch Officer (CWO), 6 TST supervisor, 8 System Administrator, 14 3M Maintenance Person, and 5 Work Center Supervisor qualifications.

As Work Center Supervisor for CC02 and alternate for CC01, IT2 led 20 Sailors in the completion of 23,194 maintenance checks, accumulating 2,860 man hours. His leadership was also critical in maintaining a Periodic Accomplishment Rating of 98%, Situation Accomplishment Rating, Administrative Accomplishment Rating, and Spot Check Accomplishment of 100%.

His efforts resulted in the qualification of 359 PQS, 23 NAMS for the successful performance of RIMPAC, two 7th Fleet Deployments and 7 Reenlistments.

Held a major role in two quarterly briefs, presenting the Captain with the Status of each Sailor in Operations within their 15 month window of PRD and EAOS. IT1 provided training to 12 fellow Career Counselors through The Career Development Training Course, qualifying Sailors in their prospective positions.

IT2 successfully took charge of and led the N6 Helpdesk Department as Helpdesk Supervisor. Directed members towards completing tasks given by CTF76 Staff, ranging from newly Enlisted personnel to the Rear Admiral himself. IT2 submitted 58 Trouble Tickets, requested 12 PIN Resets, requested and received Token Credentials for 16 new check-ins, and troubleshot both hardware and software difficulties for the Staff members in CTF76. As the Primary VTC Coordinator, IT2 successfully created 6 Confirmation Request forms for establishing VTC Bridges across the 7th Fleet, with both U.S. Military and Allies, and set up a total of 86 Video Teleconferences.




-VERSATILE LEADER. Under his tutelage, eight joint service members accomplished the following: 224 service tickets resolved, 117,000 dollars in outdated cryptographic equipment replaced, participated and excelled in Vigilant Shield 2024 exercise. His leadership led to one of his subordinates earning the Junior Non-Commissioned Officer of the Quarter award, and mission success for Vigilant Shield 24.




-VERSATILE TECHNICIAN. Resolved 600 trouble calls, 100 user accounts, and devoted over 500 hours to maintaining BULKELEY's LAN. Assisted in the upkeep of 36 voice and data circuits and processed over 300 messages, providing communication availability. She spent over 10 hours working on TMIP in order to give the HMs their full capability in medical readiness. IT2 is able to work on both the network as well as communications equipment.

Chief Watch Officer, Information Systems Security Officer, Systems Administrator and Webmaster on the staff of Commander, U.S. Naval Forces Central Command, and Commander, U.S. Fifth Fleet. Petty Officer Johnson flawlessly managed over $3 million in network equipment that supported over 300 users. He trained and led a cohesive unit of 23 Sailors in maintaining stellar intelligence and communications support for the United States Fifth Fleet.




While assigned to NMPS, his initiative and resourcefulness resulted in the modernization of the base’s auditorium audio-visual system and the command’s computer laboratory with over 40 computers updated with the most recent technology and programs.

In addition, Petty Officer Mike developed and maintained the verification process of training courses for over 3,000 active and reserve component Individual Augmentees (IA) and Global Support Assigned (GSA) sailors that were forward deployed in support of the Global War on Terror.

The Deputy Assistant Secretary of the Navy (Reserve Affairs) recently commended Petty Officer Mike for his initiative regarding the establishment of functional accounts which greatly improved the performance of the computer lab. In addition, the Secretary commented that Petty Officer Mike's ingenuity was an outstanding solution to a difficult problem.

As EKMS custodian for NCTAMS Far East Det Sasebo, he inventoried 123 EKMS line items resulting in 100% accountability of mission critical EKMS assets. In addition, he established 12 standard operating procedures for EKMS EAP, ship connectivity, and SAAR creation submittal. He also revised the detachment's EKMS program and qualified 4 personnel in 301 and 302 EKMS PQS.




Served as the Lead Tactical Operations Command Communications Chief in support of a highly successful POTUS-approved National Tasking. Chief Chandler pioneered the introduction and joint service use of the most technologically advanced broadband communications system in the NSW Community.




During USS Bulkeley's deployment, IT3 Staggs demonstrated outstanding performance while serving as combat systems cc division’s CENTRIX LAN Administrator. IT3 Staggs spent 50 hours reinstalling two domain controllers, two member servers, and seven workstations while ensuring users experienced no downtime or loss of data. His efforts, normally warranting a CASREP, proved his professionalism and resourcefulness.




During preparations for USS ROOSEVELT's Board of Inspections and Survey visit, Petty Officer XXXXX was instrumental in the corrections of faults resulting from an outage of the classified Local Area Network. Sacrificing 24 hours to troubleshooting and repairs, IT1 XXXXXXX perservered throughout the night and was able to restore all services before the arrival of the inspection team for the underway phase of INSURV.




As Antenna Preservation Petty Officer, Petty Officer Sullivan's commitment to preventative maintenance and the attention to detail with which he carried out his duties resulted in noteworthy recognition from inspectors during USS ROOSEVELT's Board of Inspection and Survey visit. Petty Officer Sullivan successfully managed a team of dedicated Sailors throughout the antenna maintenance process with superior results. His dedication to the highest standards of maintenance was instrumental in achieving an above average score on the Communications overall inspection.




As Leading Petty Officer for Communication Division, Petty Officer Aceves' leadership of his division during USS ROOSEVELT's Board of Inspection and Survey visit was key to the expeditious and successful completion of required checks. Under his direction the Communications Division received passing marks on every check, completing 70% of all checks within the first day. His diligent efforts resulted in above average marks for USS ROOSEVELT Communications. Through his organized and detailed approach, IT1 Aceves enhanced mission readiness and orchestrated superior performance within his division.




Led 13 military and six civilian contractors in the daily maintenance and operations of three SPY Radar systems, two Fire Control systems, four 400Hz Converter systems, and multiple Operational Readiness Test System (ORTS) configurations.




-Committed 25 hours toward the establishment and completion of over 24 account management requests across 2 divisions. Efforts led to 100% integrity of mission essential personnel in preparation for future operations.

-Facilitated the acquisition and installation of the latest communication technology, increasing technical capabilities for newly commissioned MSRON 11 and managed an OPTAR that included 105 new services valued at $20 million.

-Oversaw the Defense Information Systems Agency Pacific migration of critical circuits over legacy DSCS satellite links to the next generation Wideband Global Satellite, increasing throughput by a factor of 10.

-Spearheaded the project for which he made 2 detailed drawings of Hangar Bay 102 to include exact room dimensions, port placement, and individual phone line locations, resulting in a smooth installation and immediate operational readiness.

-As a Pacific Network Manager supporting Ground Mobile Forces, she managed 5 Defense Satellite Communication Systems (DSCS) links providing wideband connectivity and data service throughout the Pacific at a 99.9% up time rate.

-Single-handedly coordinated all required documentation and physical modifications for vault certification and established the EKMS account, the command's most critical communications component.

-Teamed with Japanese self-defense force to engineer communications in support of Operation Tomogachi after the March earthquake in Japan.

-Assumed responsibility for and revitalized DISA-PAC's physical fitness program. Failure rate over the last four cycles has dropped from 30% to zero.

-Coordinated with the Navy/Marine Corps intranet representatives, Patrol and Reconnaissance Wing Two, and senior leadership to acquire and redistribute 58 computers and activate 14 new phone lines to meet the communication requirements of a rapidly expanding squadron.

-Assumed responsibility for and accomplished the technical refresh of 35 computers for boat div 56 and managed the NMCI computer lease and service for 4 UICs at costs exceeding $200,000.
